The Forum of 2011, the ninth one, is supported by the Russian State Duma, the Federation Council of the Russian Federal Assembly, the Russian Ministries of Energy and Foreign Affairs; it is one of the biggest and most prominent public events in the Russian power industry.
The Forum has received a greeting from Premier-Minister V. V. Putin, who highlights vitality and authority of the MIEF «Fuel and Energy Complex in the XXI Century»; in his address, he also wishes successful work for the participants and guests of the Forum.
The Forum’s General Partner is OJSC «Gazprom»; the General Sponsor is Honeywell multisectorial company, strategic partner – RMG company. The Forum is supported by: the Association of European Businesses in the Russian Federation, MIEP of MGIMO (University) in MFA of Russia, Institute of Oil and Gas Problems of the RAS, Institute of Energy Research of the RAS, NCTC Association, companies «President-Neva «Energy Center», «Stolica», «Nizhnekamskneftekhim», «Ilma» etc.
The Forum has afforded registration for over 1,300 persons, representatives of the Russian, and foreign, and transnational companies. This year’s Forum welcomes guests from the regions of Russia, the CIS and beyond. In particular, the Forum Business Program is participated by representatives of the companies from Germany, Austria, Holland, France, Italy, Slovakia, Norway, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait etc.
The Forum Program includes 13 international conferences and round tables to be attended by the heads and specialists of big Russian and foreign energy companies, representatives of the specialized science, and world-recognized experts. The MIEF 2011 Business Program is very rich; a great deal of attention is paid to discussing the extremely urgent issues: forming legal framework for efficient interaction on the world energy market, attracting investments to the fuel and energy complex, staffing, modernizing the industry etc. Besides, the discussion at the Forum will concern the state of the oil and gas market within the context of the dramatic events in Japan, in the Middle East and North Africa; reviewing the world forecasts and scenarios for the world power industry will be also discussed.
The media interest to the MIEF-2011 may be called unprecedented. About 400 journalists have confirmed their participation in the Forum.
