In the frames of the business program of the Forum «Fuel and energy complex in XXI century» the Round table «Prospects of the gas motor fuel development» was held. Many representatives of the largest energetic companies, regional government bodies, largest Russian motorcar factories, science schools and universities took part in this Round Table. The organizational Partner of the Table was Moscow State Technical University named after N.E. Bauman (MSTU).
As a prevention of the reports, Moderator of the Round Table, the Dean of the «Energetic engineering» faculty, Professor Anatoly Anatolievich Zherdev has announced that world interest in the gas fuel has rapidly grown for the last several years. This situation can be explained by oil prices growing, strict ecological demands to internal-combustion engines, intentions of the most developed countries to switch to renewable energy sources.
The updated world conditions make car manufacturers to develop new modern fuel systems. Interest in this technological direction development is growing among car manufacturers and fuel and energy complex in Russia.
The participants of the Round Table have revised the main aspects of the gas motor fuel market development in Russia.
Particularly, the discussion concerned the main aspects of the gas car engines and series gas vehicles manufacturing development, as well as oil and gas companies’ role in the gas refueling stations expansion, also of the car gasification significance for the Russian regions.
In the Round table it’s been specially stressed that utilization of the natural gas as a motor fuel is playing the important role for national industry development.
In the reports of the Round table the speakers have marked the important advantage of the gas motor fuel – its ecological compatibility.
Transfer of cars from oil to gas let us to decrease harmful emissions in several times. The largest Russian gas and oil companies have presented their plans for development of gas motor business in Russia and creation of the new commodity markets.
The Round table’ participants have demonstrated successful experience of natural gas as motor fuel utilization and have concluded that there are large and interest preconditions for this market’ development.
Having discussed the organizational and finance stimulation measures for gas motor fuel utilization, the participants marked the necessity of the relevant legislative base development in the government field regulation.
