MIEF Chief Executive Officer Andrey Epishov “Russian Fuel and Energy Complex in the XXI Century” addressed by the website to the participants and partners of the Forum. The main purpose is to inform the Forum’s registered and potential participants and partners about the new phase in preparation of the XII Moscow International Energy Forum “Russian Fuel and Energy Complex in the XXI Century” (MIEF-2014).
«We are very pleased to announce the beginning of a new phase within the preparation to the Energy Forum «Russian Fuel and Energy Complex in the XXI Century» in April. There are undergoing extensive qualitative changes in the world energy system of the last years. These changes put the government and big business before the necessity of major adjustments of their energy strategies. Due to the existing global uncertainty and instability as never before the price of mistake for making strategic decisions increases, especially in energy sector, whose importance in the global context is constantly increasing. Leaders are taking strategic decisions, all the more acutely aware the importance of reliable information and expert advice. Our forum is an independent expert discussion platform where key issues of the development in energy sector openly and freely discussed from different angles. In this sense, the unique long-term MIEF experience is difficult to overestimate because our final documents and transcripts are being looked by the analytics, who are preparing the draft documents of the highest level.
In cause of the exceptional importance of this key stages in preparation, as the formation of the agenda of the Forum, we now have resumed active interaction with our friends and constant partners to renew in the next month the composition of the Program Committee and to form a powerful public expert analytical centre for the MIEF-2014 Program preparation. We are not tired to repeat that the doors of the Program Committee are always open for those who want and can contribute to the development within the project - periodic public meeting of the Program Committee has already became a good tradition.
The last two months we have been actively discussed with our partners and independent experts one important question - what topic could claim the status of «main theme» during the next Forum? The results showed that the most of its participants would like to discuss as a central theme the MIEF-2014 question of efficiency increase within the Russian Fuel and Energy Complex locked in the grip of external and internal threats. It is obvious that discussion of the competitiveness within the sector involves not only the discussion on energy strategy, but also a wider view of state economic and industrial policy issues, the human capital role and place of in this process, the institutional and environmental infrastructure development. Environmental issues will be in our focus during the discussion of sustainable development issues. Our position in this sphere remains unchanged.
We hope to organize an interesting and useful discussion of the key issues within the economic and energy development and we are looking for your assistance and active participation in this process. We will always welcome your suggestions and wishes.
