Today, XI Moscow International Energy Forum “Russian Fuel and Energy Complex in the XXI Century “ opened its doors to participants and guests in Expocenter (International Exhibition & Conventions Center, pavilion #7). Participants of the

10. 00 Plenary Discussion “Regional energy issues. Can heat supply be an effective business?”
Participants of the plenary session discussed the system problems, which are preventing the increase in industry’s investment attractiveness. During the talks, a set of potentially effective measures that are meant to enhance reliability and quality of the heat supply system was brought up. The main focus was directed towards the improvement of economic and legal mechanisms in order to ensure payback for modernization projects including those at the expense of the current costs’ reduction. In the framework of the discussion, proposals for changes in legislation that regulates state investment policy were also voiced.
The session was chaired by Andrey Nikolaevich Likhachev, CEO at JSC Moscow Integrated Power Company.

13.00-14.00 Business lunch with reports on
”Strategic Development Concept for the Russian Electric Grid Complex”
Andrey Dyomin, Advisor of the Chairman of the Board, OJSC FGS UES held a speech concerning the Development Strategy for the Russian Electric Grid Complex approved by the Russian Government. Mentioned strategy was presented in the context of the President’s Order from 22.11.2012 “On Open Joint-Stock Company “Russian Grids”. The speaker underlined that the key goals of the latest complex reorganization was the renovation of the industry in terms of investment and innovations. The renewal is intended to enhance reliability of the electric supply system and to increase energetic and economic efficiency of the grid complex by means of better management, transparency of investment activities and attraction of private investments.
Valentin Mezhevich also held a speech during the business lunch.
