The MIEF General Director Andrey P. Epishov addressed through the website of the Forum for its participants and partners. The goal of this address is to inform registered and potential actors and partners of the Forum about the progress of preparation to the event. In the appeal it is noted that the preparation of the XI Moscow International Energy Forum “Russian Fuel and Energy Complex in the XXI century” (MIEF-2013) has moved into the active phase.
The program Committee of the MIEF and analytical service of the Administration of the Forum, in close collaboration with leading experts, in the course of the recent months have done a great job and, as a result, formulated the main theme of the plenary session of the Forum - “World Energy: New Development Vectors. Russia Energy Strategy in the Context of New Challenges.” According to the address of Andrei P. Epishov: “this topic has been formulated on the basis of the analysis of the key trends and determinants, which are radically change the situation in the world energy sector and most direct impact today and will have an impact in the coming years on the economy and Fuel and Energy Complex of Russia”.
The organizers of the Forum consider the main theme of the plenary discussions as the conceptual framework and basis, specifying the main vector of the discussions during the MIEF-2013. Proceeding from this logic, the Program Committee of the mief-2013 formed a draft of the full Program of the forum includes the exhibition, conferences and round tables. For today it is prepared by the announcements of the forthcoming activities in the framework of the forum, the candidatures of the co-chairmen of the conferences and “round tables” are coordinated, there is an active work with the requests for the reports and speeches at the Forum.
The key event of the next stage of preparation of the Forum, according to address of Andrei P. Epishov, will be a round table on the topic “Global Energy Sector: on the threshold of major changes. The place of Russia in global energy markets by 2020” The round table will be held on 7th of February in the format of an open meeting of the Program Committee of the MIEF-2013 with the participation of russian and foreign experts. The purpose of the “round table” is to discuss key aspects of the new quality of the world energy development and formulation of a number of recommendations for the authorities and business in the updating of the traditional Russian Energy Strategy based on the raw material advantage. The round table participants also will formulate recommendations on the Program and the most urgent topics at the plenary discussion of the MIEF-2013.
Andrew P. Epishov: “We hope that this round table, as a kind of general rehearsal for the plenary discussion of the forthcoming Forum will allow us to consolidate the participation in the preparation of the MIEF-2013 representatives of the scientific-expert community, and to form the final Program of the Forum”.
In conclusion, emphasizing the social status of the project, Andrei P. Epishov said that the doors of the MIEF “are always open for presentations of new projects and interesting ideas, we also will be glad to consider your wishes concerning the Program of the Forum”.
