OJSC «Russian Railways» keeps taking part in MIEF, now – as the General Industry-Specific Partner of the MIEF-2013.
The longstanding partnership of Russian Railways and the Forum «Russian Fuel and Energy Complex in the XXI Century» verifies the role of the railway transport as a key segment of the transport infrastructure of the fuel-and-energy complex and the Company’s interest in establishing a constructive dialog with the authorities and the expert community aimed at forming a strong energy system in Russia. The role of the railway transport as an interlink between the elements of the integrated economic system can hardly be overestimated. Organization of uninterrupted supply of various essential cargoes, such as raw energy materials, solid and liquid fuel and refined products, ensures stable work of the power sector enterprises, the industrial and transport objects.
The railway is a major consumer of electric energy, so this sector regards the introduction of new energy-efficient technologies as one of the first-priority directions. Over several years, the Company has implemented projects for better resource saving in the spheres of rolling stock and infrastructure facilities.
