The draft Declaration of the Moscow International Energy Forum (MIEF) “Russian Fuel and Energy Complex in the XXI Century” has been eventually completed with due consideration for remarks and suggestions announced at the closing joint meeting of the MIEF Organizing Committee, Program Committee and Directorate.
The Declaration has resulted from multilateral consultations initiated right after setting up the MIEF Program Committee and continued with the participation of the Forum partners and key speakers.
The Declaration was approved at a critical political moment – on the eve of the “Rio+20” International Conference – when leaders of states and international organizations are to find new responses to existing threats and lay down a new road map to enhance sustained development of the global community.
By approving this statement, the Forum participants emphasize strategic importance of ensuring long-term sustainable development of the human society and point out a need for reviewing institutional and legal conditions to consolidate efforts of the society, business and authorities, and to solve this key challenge of modern times.
