 Russian and foreign participants of the international conference «Eastward Vector in the Russian Energy Strategy» will discuss the strategic prospects of the cooperation between Russia and the Asia-Pacific region in terms of energy as one of the principle tools of further development of the regional economic integration.
The competition for energy resources has become the main guiding force of the to-day’s international policy. It is forecasted that by 2020 North-East Asia only will attribute to more that a half of the global demand for energy resources, and all the states of the Asia-Pacific region are concerned about their current and future energy security.
Delegations from the states belonging to the Asia-Pacific region, representatives of their officially certified legations in the Russian Federation, leading experts on international relations in the energy industry were invited to the Conference.
Russian APEC Study Center is the General Partner of the Conference. Deputy Director of Russian APEC Study Center, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Gleb Ivashentsov is the Conference chairman and moderator; First Deputy Chairman of the Russian Federation Council Committee on Economic Policy Valentin Mezhevich is the co-chairman.
