T. V. Ivanov, Director General of Russian Energy Agency (REA), sent a letter to the MIEF-2012 Organizing Committee, wherein he announced his consent to join the Organizing Committee and willingness to contribute to the organization and conduct of the forum. T.V. Ivanov will stand as an expert at the forum plenary discussion and the Agency will become a co-organizer of the forum and the general partner of the round table «Problems of Energy Efficiency in Russia». REA experts will also assist the session devoted to the strategic aspects of the backbone and regional electric grids development. Being members of MIEF-2012 Program Committee, L. M. Grigoryev, Deputy Director General and REA Research Supervisor, and A. V. Konev, Director for Innovations, render expert and analytical support to the forum.
The federal state budgetary Institution «Russian Energy Agency» (REA) of the Russian Ministry of Energy was established in December 2009 on the basis of the Russian Association of Information Resources of Research-and-Technical Development (Rosinformresurs since 1966).
The Agency’s goals are to promote better efficiency of the state policy in energy efficiency and energy saving; to establish the single platform for market players’ interaction; to make the power industry more attractive for investment.
REA guidelines for action include: information-analytical work concerning the fuel-and-energy complex, energy efficiency and renewable energy sources; development and operational support of regional, municipal, budgetary and corporate programs for energy efficiency; coordination of international cooperation of the projects for energy efficiency and renewable energy sources; energy efficiency promotion/training programs; energy efficiency/RES methodological support; examination and support of the projects for energy efficiency and RES; support of energy service activities and mobilization of investment; support of innovation and research activities in the fuel-and-energy complex, energy efficience, RES technologies; assistance at establishing Russian production facilities and transferring technologies related to energy efficiency and RES.
REA operates a broad network of regional offices in 70 regions of Russia; the staff includes over 2000 employees.
