17 February 2012
Gleb Ivashentsov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Pleinpotentiary, Deputy Director of Russian APEC Study Center, will join the MIEF-2012 as the Chairman and Host of the international conference «Eastward Vector in the Russian Energy Strategy».
The Forum «Russian Fuel and Energy Complex in the XXI Century» has always paid much attention to the issues concerning the Orient. The coming tenth forum, unlike the previous ones, will put the main stress on the international energy cooperation focused on the countries of the East. The competition for energy resources has become the main guiding force in the modern international politics. By all means, it is the case of the Asia-Pacific region steadily gaining global economic leadership. All the Asia-Pacific states are similar in their concern of energy security: by 2020, over half of the global energy resource demand will be attributed to North-East Asia alone.
Russian and foreign participants of the conference «Eastward Vector in the Russian Energy Strategy» will discuss the strategic prospects of the energy cooperation between Russia and the Asia-Pacific region as one of the principle tools of further development of the regional economic integration based on openness and mutual benefit.
Gleb Ivashentsov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Pleinpotentiary, Deputy Director of Russian APEC Study Center, presented reports at the two previous forums «Russian Fuel and Energy Complex in the XXI Century».
