 Yuriy S. Osipov, President of the Russian Academy of Sciences, joined the MIEF-2012 Organizing Committee. The RAS experts are going to take most active part in the preparation and conduct of the Forum.
It has been a good tradition that the scientists of RAS, acting on voluntary basis, provide science-expert and analytical support of the Forum «Russian Fuel and Energy Complex in the XXI Century». The representatives of RAS work in the Program Committee actively. Several RAS institutes are the Forum partners, so they are directly involved in preparing the theme conferences and round tables, where they present the most substantial reports.

According to the historically established status and purposes, the Academy has been divided on the basis of the science-sector and territorial principles. RAS includes 11 divisions (according to fields of science) and 3 regional divisions, as well as 15 regional science centers.
Each RAS division (by fields/trends of science) unites the Academy members elected in the given division and the research officers of the science organizations and the organizations of science assistance and social domain that belong to this division. The division of the Russian Academy of Sciences is the main research and science-organizational center that consolidate the scientists of the same or related sciences within RAS.
In particular, RAS contains the Division of Power Industry, Machine Building, Mechanics and Management Processes (OEMMPU, www.oem.ras.ru). Among other themes, the division experts deal with the problems of development and functioning of energy systems in the market, including the aspects of the energy efficiency of economy, They also work with the issues of energy security, energy/resource saving and complex use of the natural fuels.
