Profound changes in the world’s energy sector require interpretation of Russia’s fuel and energy sector place in the new forming energy reality. Intensive development of state of the art energy technology prophet the decline of the hydrocarbon era. At the same time, as analysis of the renewed «Energy Strategy of Russia for the period till 2035» project show, major structural reforms in the Russian fuel and energy complex are not provided. In modern Russia oil and gas remain the main resource and the country still remains a supplier of primary resources to countries which improve their global competitiveness. At the same time, Russia possesses sufficient intellectual potential for the improvement of the national economy’s competitiveness and provision of sustainable development of the country, and therefore, the authorities are required to determine a new way of development, adequate to current global challenges. Discussion of Russia’s energy sector development strategy will be the main subject of the “Russian Fuel and Energy Complex in the XXI Century: in search of a new strategic imperative” plenary discussion , which is planned as the key expert event in the XIV Moscow International Energy Forum “Russian Fuel and Energy Complex in the XXI Century” business program. Special attention within the discussion is planned to be devoted to issues of Russia’s Fuel and Energy Complex integration into the global energy sector of the future.
The plenary discussion will take place on the 18th of April 2016 at the premises of the Complex of administrative buildings of the Government of Moscow (New Arbat Avenue, 36/9).
