Today, the joint session of the Organizing Committee and the Program Committee summarized the MIEF-2011; the session was also participated by the co-chairmen of the conferences, the speakers, and other involved experts. The session developed and approved the Forum Outcomes reflecting the MIEF-2011 participants’ expert opinions and proposals. Now, these documents, formed on the public-expert level as a result of intense and fruitful work, will be forwarded to representatives of the executive and legislative powers for familiarization.
Traditionally, the Moscow International Energy Forum has been conducted on a very high expert and representation level. 13 events – international conferences, round tables and seminars – have been performed within the MIEF-2011. On 7 April, the Forum and the Exhibition «Russian Fuel and Energy Complex in the XXI Century» were ceremonially opened. When opening the first session of the Forum Plenary Discussion, Yuriy Lipatov, Chairman of the Energy Committee of the State Duma of the Russian Federal Assembly, said: «The power industry has always been a key development factor both for the national economy and for the world one. Under the conditions of globalization, this factor acquires crucial significance even for the prospects of sustainable development of the whole of the human civilization. The Forum is devoted to the strategic aspects of the world power industry's development and Russia's role in the domain of the global economy and energy. This matter is even more urgent when regarded within the context of the events in a number of the North African and Middle Eastern countries, and the tragic consequences of the natural disaster in Japan as well. The issues of the global energy safety have become even more important».
The theme of the Plenary Discussion “Russian Fuel and Energy Complex in the XXI Century: International Dimension” was perfectly developed by the speakers, among which there were:
Valeriy Golubev – Deputy Chairman of Board of OJSC «Gazprom»
Dominique Fache – Country Manager in Russia and CIS, Enel S.p.A

Other MIEF-2011 events were not less interesting; they covered practically all the range of the urgent issues of the world power industry development. During the Forum, the experts actively commented on the recent world events and gave their opinions on development of different sectors of the power industry. RBK-TV Company, one of the General Media-Partners, covered the Forum on-line; it also prepared a number of interesting interviews and reports (available only in Russian language):
